Judy Bain, CEO, 10,000 Helpers of St. Croix commenting to the St. Croix Source, June, 2005, on conference “Take Control” Mental health, mental illness, service and the community: "We started with zero funds," said Bain, adding that the groups held fundraisers and wrote a grant for more funds. "We were successful in getting a grant from the Bennie and Martha Benjamin Foundation." She said the conference could not have happened without the foundation grant.

Rodney Miller, CEO, Roy L. Schneider Hospital & Medical Center, commenting to the St. John Source on August 17, 2005 on grant for Nurse Externship Program, a collaborative training initiative between the hospital and UVI."We want to thank the Bennie and Martha Benjamin Foundation for their generous support of this valuable program," Miller said. "The nursing shortage is a nationwide problem and this grant will help in the building of the next generation of qualified registered nurses, as well as in saving us money on expensive contract nursing,” he added.
