Scholarship Recipient Profile: DR. REVA RICHARDSON

University of the Virgin Islands alum Dr. Reva Richardson recently returned to the territory as a pediatrician and internist at Schneider Hospital and the East End Health Clinic on St. Thomas. "It was quite a blessing to receive that money for medical school," said Dr. Richardson, who earned her doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. The financial assistance, she said, helped her to "concentrate on school and not worry about finances." She went on to complete her residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center in 2003. Between August 2003 and April 2004 she was an attending physician in the emergency room at Miami Veterans Administration Medical Center.
